Summer Reading Program Begins Today!

robot and boy readingSchool’s out, and it’s officially summer!  Children and teens can sign up for our Summer Reading Program, and earn prizes based upon how much they read.  All children and teens who register for our 2014 Summer Reading Program will receive a voucher for a FREE ticket to a Sea Dogs Game!

Cosplay Workshop

CosplayA workshop for students in grades 6-12 who are interested in learning about cosplay.  Cosplay is the art and practice of wearing costumes to portray characters from anime, manga, or graphic novels.  The workshop also includes information on attending anime conventions.  Pre-registration is required by calling 985-2173 x5 or emailing here.

Snowflake Chandeliers

Snowflake ChandeliersThe library will host a Snowflake Chandeliers craft program for tweens in grades 5-8 on Friday, December 27th at 1:30 p.m.  Paper snowflakes and snowflakes made from doilies will be strung on fishing line and sprinkled in glitter.  The snowflakes will then be hung from embroidery hoops that are wrapped in festive ribbon.  Snowflakes cascading down from ribbon-wrapped embroidery hoops will add a decorative touch to family homes and bring a touch of winter wonderland indoors to enjoy.  Pre-registration is required by calling 985-2173 x5 emailing

Percy Jackson & the Olympians Book Group

Lightning ThiefNovember 13th @ 4:00 p.m.  For grades 5-8.  A book discussion group based on the first book in the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series, “The Lightning Thief.”  The program will include trivia, an activity, and snacks.  The library will have extra copies of the books to borrow ahead of time available in the Children’s Room.  Pre-registration is required by calling 985-2173 x5 or emailing here.

Teen Advisory Group Meeting

IMG_1187Teen Advisory Group meeting, Tuesday, October 1st @ 3:30 p.m. for grades 9-12.  Members of the Teen Advisory Group recommend books and movies for the teen collection, help plan fun and exciting teen programs, and discuss current trends in technology.  New members always welcome.  FMI call 985-2173 x5 or email here
