Hunger Games Party

The Kennebunk Free Library is hosting a Hunger Games-themed party on Wednesday, February 20th at 2:00 p.m. for students in grades 6-12. Pre-registration is required for this program by calling 985-2173 x5.       

The party will be a celebration of the bestselling young adult novel, The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. In this dystopian novel, the rulers of a future North America control through an annual televised survival competition. Teen responses to the novel have catapulted both the book and movie to outstanding popularity. The party at the library will include Hunger Games costumes, trivia, (on the first book only) and an activity.

Friday, Feb. 8.  Due to the storm, there will be no Teen Gaming today.

Parenting Class Friday, Feb. 15

Stevie WestmorelandOur Parenting Class meets on Friday, Feb. 15 from 10:30 am to noon.  Led by Stevie Westmoreland, MS, MEd, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), each month covers a new topic.

In our February meeting, we will discuss assertiveness skills and effective discipline models based upon the 1-2-3 Magic series by Thomas Phelan.

Although these classes have been building upon each other, interested individuals are invited to join at any time.  Future meetings will be on the third Friday of every month, from 10:30 am-noon.  The program is free, and no pre-registration is necessary.  For more information, please visit Stevie’s website, or call her at 985-2511.
