Join us Tues., June 26 at 6:30 pm for Jackson Gillman as he regales us with starry summer stories! Considered a comedian for kids, Jackson transforms himself into the characters of his stories by changing dialects, using mime, American Sign Language, and songs.
Most recently seen at Kennebunk Elementary School in January, Jackson was a featured performer at the National Storytelling Festival in Tennessee three times. For twenty years Jackson hosted a summer concert series of comedy, music and New Vaudeville on Mount Desert Island, with a new thematic program each year. Early in his career, Jackson played the male lead opposite a deaf actress in Children of a Lesser God. Jackson’s use of American Sign Language has become a natural addition to his craft. With a background in mime and dance, Jackson’s programs stand out by incorporating effective use of movement, space, and visual composition
