This week’s programs.

Our summer continues to be busybusybusy, what with our Community Read of William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, and the Children’s Summer Reading Program!

Without further ado:

  • Tonight’s Pet Show has been rescheduled until next Monday, July 19th, at 6pm.
  • Due to a technical problem, this month’s Book-to-Film Night — originally scheduled for tonight — has been cancelled.  We’ll show the movie next month.
  • Teddy Bear’s Picnic will be held on Tuesday, July 13th at 11:30am – that all-ages program will run every Tuesday at the same time through August 17th.
  • The Teen Dessert Cooking Contest will be held on Tuesday, July 13th, at 6:30pm.  Pre-registration is required.
  • At the same time — July 13th at 6:30pm — there will be a discussion of William Golding’s Lord of the Flies.
  • On Wednesday, July 14th, Chewonki will be here to present their Flippers and Fins program.  Space for this program is extremely limited, and pre-registration is required.
  • Author Dave Jourdan will be here Wednesday evening at 7pm to talk about his book The Deep Sea Quest for Amelia Earhart.
  • Rhyme Time will continue on Thursday, July 15th at 10:30am — that program will run every Thursday at the same time through August 12th.
  • Author Patricia Hughes will be here on the 15th at 1pm to talk about Maine’s Waterfalls.
  • A panel of experts will be here on Thursday, July 15th at 6:30pm to discuss the impact of encroaching human development on natural fish habitats.
  • On Friday, our Teen Gaming Club will meet as usual at 3pm.
  • Lastly, a reminder:  Our summer hours are in effect, so we’ll be closing at 1pm on Saturday, rather than 5pm.
